CNPC is a program that combines the strength of community health workers and puskesmas healthcare professionals. Women, youth groups, doctors and nurses alike are trained in basic palliative care skills, common illnesses occurring in the community, pain and symptom management, and psychosocial and spiritual management. Through this program, Rachel House encourages all community stakeholders to reinforce the spirit of “gotong royong” (collaboration), working together to provide quality palliative care for everyone facing life-limiting conditions at home.
A monthly meeting is held where all trained community health workers and puskesmas healthcare professionals come together to share experiences, coordinate care and refresh their skills and knowledge.
